Tall Girls’ New Best Friend

Being almost 5’8″, I wouldn’t consider myself extra tall, but I think it’s safe to say that I’m above average height for women. I’d look up what that actual height is, but I’m positive I’m taller than 80% of the women I deal with on a daily basis so I’m gonna just go ahead and assume that I’m right. That being said, heels and wedges aren’t a huge staple in terms of my shoe collection. Flats, boots and sandals (both heel-less) are my go-to year round. Which is all fine and well, but I wanna wear heels! I wanna wear wedges! I love them, they make my legs look longer and less stumpy (yes your legs can still look stumpy when you’re tall). On the off day that I do break out the wedges or heels, this is what it looks like…

I definitely venture into the higher level of footwear on the weekends when I’m going out, but still then, call me old-fashion, I’m not a huge fan of being taller than my man. And at 6 foot (I’ll give you the half inch here Max) a 4 inch heel and big hair is going to do just that. Also, it needs to be known that I do not under any circumstances condone a kitten heel. I just can’t. So…I think I may have found a solution.

Enter the low heel wedge. I’ve seen these puppies popping up all over the place and at first I was skeptical, but the more I look at them more I fall in love with them. Just a little bit of extra length in the leg without towering over 3/4 of the office. Here’s a few of my favorites. Let me know what you think of this new trend for us tall gals. A Mother’s Day Gift Guide

So with Mother’s Day just around the corner, literally, it’s on Sunday, I thought I should probably start figuring out what to get my lovely mother. She’s a tough one to shop for, whenever I ask her what she wants for a birthday or christmas or in this case, mother’s day, I get the same response: oh I don’t know, anything is fine. When you literally can get her ANYTHING, it becomes a lot harder. So I decided to put together a gift guide for other potential readers with very relaxed (read: difficult) mother’s to shop for. Hopefully something below will be perfect. And if not, just buy it for yourself and write her a nicely thought out card. Just kidding, you should definitely get her something of monetary value, do you have any idea how much that woman spent on you in your lifetime? A lot. So maybe just go ahead and buy her everything in my guide to begin the payback process.
