Let’s pretend like I haven’t been totally absent blog-wise and move onto what is actually important: the holiday’s are here! Which means that the parties and the secret santa’s and all the gift swapping events are right around the corner, if they haven’t started already.
My favorite part about the holidays is finding the perfect gift for all my family and friends. Sometimes it’s easy and they just tell me exactly what they want in the form of an email which includes a direct link to the product, along with other pertinent information such as size or color. Then there are other times when I don’t get any help at all and I’m left to my own devices. But I guess I don’t really mind since I like to be on the hunt for something meaningful that I know will put a smile on their faces.
So since I believe so strongly in gifting, I wanted to help you find the best gifts for each person on your list. So I’ve taken it upon myself to provide you with these fancy little Holiday Gift Guides. Keep any eye out over the next few days for gift guides for everyone.
Today, we’re going to start the show off with the Holiday Gift Guide for The Chef. If you’ve got someone in your life that lives in the kitchen because they WANT to be in there, check out some of these perfectly chef-y choices.
1. Sur La Table® Vegetable and Fruit Spiral Slicer
I’ve had an eye on one of these for some time now and hopefully this is the year someone feels like gifting it to me, otherwise I’m buying one as soon as the new year rolls around. By turning veggies into noodles, or what as close to carb free pasta as you’re gonna get, you’ll be eating healthier and fancier!
2. Mason Jar Measuring Cups
If you know me well, you know that I love me a good Mason jar, so this beautifully, blue measuring cup version is too adorable to pass up. Plus, it’s on sale right now for less than $10!
3. Dominique Ansel: The Secret Recipes
You may have heard some rumbling this year about a whacky breakfast/dessert situation that was making people line up down streets like idiots. Yes, I’m talking about the cronut. And while I’ve never had the privilege of shoving one in my mouth, with this book, I imagine someone could get pretty close. Dominique Ansel is the creator of the cronut and author of The Secret Recipes, a cookbook documenting those delicious desserts from his bakery. Any sweet tooth baker would appreciate this one for sure.
4. Amco Rub Away Bar
This soap bar look-a-like is a chef’s new best friend. Know someone that loves working with those smelly ingredients like onions, garlic or fish? They probably hate themselves for hours afterward since their hands still stink of the stank. With this Rub Away bar, wash with it and all odors disappear. Plus it looks so pretty!
5. Nutri Ninja Blender with Auto IQ
Ok, so I just went out and bought this for myself after months of contemplating which smoothie blender I’d be replacing my Cuisine Art blender with. And this is the guy I decided on, and I’m definitely not complaining. It’s working like a charm and my smoothies have never been smoother, and isn’t that the point!?
6. Dash Greek Yogurt Maker
Everyone and their mother has jumped on the greek yogurt bandwagon. I mean Bobby Flay and John Stamos are even greek yogurt spokespeople. And I’ll agree, but what I won’t agree with is the price. Individual greek yogurt can cost upwards of $2 for a single serving depending on your brand. So why not throw your yogurt loving friend a bone and get them their own greek yogurt maker to make their own? Great idea, I know.
7. Le Creuset ® Signature 5.5 qt. Round Cherry French Oven with Lid
Every serious chef needs a french oven, and if you’re going to get one, you may as well get the best. Le Creuset has been ranked among the top in cookware for decades. Normally a go-to wedding gift, switch it up and gift one for Christmas.
8. Flag Conversions Tea Towel
I’ve always got a problem of needing to check a cooking conversion on my phone in the middle of the actual cooking process when I’ve got gunk all over my hands. It’s a real problem because touching my phone screen is most definitely the last thing I want to do. But with this handy tea towel, conversions are right at your fingertips, literally.
Hope you found something fun to get for the chef in your life. Share any other gourmet gift finds in the comments below and don’t forget to check back for more gift guides the rest of the week.
