Dresses for Summer Weddings – Under $60

Welp, there goes the long weekend. Hope you made the most of it cause we’re not getting another day off work until September. It’s gonna be a lonnng two months. But it now being July, it seems that wedding season is in full swing. Luckily for my wallet, we only have two to attend this year, one the end of this month! But something tells me next year will be full of ’em, I’ve already got three lined up and we’ve still got six months left for people to get engaged! But the problem with so many weddings is no one wants to be seen in pictures wearing the same dress twice. Especially the guys. #worst

But seriously, it’s an issue. So what’s a girl to do? Be wedding web savvy! There are always beautiful dresses to be found that won’t necessarily break the bank, it’s just a matter of finding them. So today I’m sharing some of my favorite dresses for summer weddings, and they’re all under $60. Since we’re almost into mid July I thought it best to stick with sleeveless silhouettes. So if you’re on the hunt for some pretty dresses to look classy at the ceremony but then let loose at the reception, look no further. These dresses are classy enough to go from church to open bar!

Where do you find your dresses for summer weddings? Do you think it’s a big deal if you’re seen wearing the same dress to two in the same season or am I making it a bigger issue than it is? Let me know so I can save some doll hairs! But then again, buying new dresses is always fun regardless! Plus a lot of these would be perfect for the ladies’ bachelorette party too!

4TH OF JULY FASHION, FAST

DRESSING FOR THE FOURTH | CHAMPAGNEANDCHAMBRAY.COM

You guys, it’s July! We’re over halfway through the year, already, really snuck up on us. Well, me at least. But that means that the 4th of July is right around the corner, Friday if we’re getting technical, which I guess we are! My plans are lookin’ pretty relaxed, a kind of a play-it-by-ear situation happening.

But what I do know is that I will be wearing red, white and blue all weekend long! I’m one of those people that like to really go all out fashion-wise on holidays, sorry I’m not sorry. Now I know what you’re thinking, ugh but the fourth is in three days, I’m not paying for that expedited shipping! Welp, me either people. I try to avoid paying for shipping at all costs. I think I’ve only ever paid for expedited shipping once. And it was because I tried on my bridesmaid dress two days before the wedding I was supposed to be wearing it in and realized it did. not. fit. #mylifesajoke So I did what any sane (but actually have a panic attack) person would do, overnighted a new dress. I said a silent prayer to the JCrew and UPS gods for not screwing up that shipment! Moral of the story here is, don’t order a dress a size down in hopes you will lose the weight.

Ok so back to the point. You need some super cute ‘murica apparel for the weekend, and all of these puppies are available IN STORE. Yep, you can go pick em up this week. Unless it’s sold out, then it’s out of my hands and I take no responsibility! I apologize if you don’t have a JCrew Factory nearby, but those shorts are cute so you should probably just order them online anyway!  And bonus points, if the USA wins today against Belgium, you can keep wearing your outfits while cheering on America in the quarterfinals! I’m talking about the World Cup if that wasn’t clear. I believe!

Oh ps, I realize that it’s the first of the month so this should technically be a post about my goals. But, I’ve come to find that these are pointless since I’m a complete failure at almost all of them, so I think I’ll just keep them to myself from now on and come up with a new segment for the first of the month, stayed tuned in 31 days.

Skirting the Line: Skirt Roundup Under $60

First order of business, I’ve got the C&C Facebook page up and running, so go ahead and give ‘er a like so you don’t miss anything important on the blog, I’ll make sure to update whenever there’s a new post! I’ll also update regularly with anything I feel like you might want to know, kind of like you weekend links but all the time! Plus, you’ll get a bit of a sneak peek of the new look of the blog, which will be debuting reeeeal soon. I’ve been putting in a lot of work over the past month to get it up and running for you, so get excited!

Now that it’s unofficially summer, I think that means that it’s officially skirt season. Skirts are a working girls gift from the fashion industry when it gets as hot as it does in Chicago in the summer. Can’t wear shorts to the office, but pants are far, far too suffocating when you’re taking two different lines to get to work. Enter: skirts. They’re breezy and really let ya air out that undercarriage when its too hot to handle. Plus they’ve got all sorts of styles. Admission: I honestly did not know why maxi skirts were called maxi until about a year ago. Mini, short. Maxi, long. Simple logic that I just did. not. get. Sue me. And alas, now we’ve got the midi as well. Min, mid, max. It just makes so much sense!

Anywho, I thought I’d roundup some of my favorites from around the web. Better yet, I thought I’d keep ’em all under $60 because I’m thoughtful like that. These babies range from $16-$60 (with current discounts), so find the one you like and scoop it up because it’s already starting to heat up out there! Let me know if you’ve found any great skirt steals, or let me know your favorite!

It’s Here! The Kate Spade Surprise Sale!

One of my favorite times of the year has arrived, and it snuck up without me even realizing it. Kate Spade Surprise Sale! I’m not even really sure when it really started, thank god someone pinned it on Pinterest and I saw it last night. Normally I get the emails but I never saw one come through this time. But luckily it lasts until the 22nd so we’re allllll good. But aren’t sales the best thing since sliced bread? (Does anyone else wonder what the best thing was BEFORE sliced bread?) So don’t forget to check back this weekend for all the amazeballs Memorial Day sales that will be poppin up!

But KS Surprise Sales are the best time to buy Kate Spade because most of the stuff on there is like, 75% off retail. I mean, helllllllo, $498 bags for $169!  Anywho, take a gander at some of the great stuff. Tons of bags, bunch of wallets, some clutches, jewelry, watches, they really offer a little bit of everything. Plus, spend $200, which is very easy on days like this, you get free ground shipping.

Check out some of my favorite pieces below. I noticed a few months ago then when I shop, I tend to stick to certain color patterns. Like, when I was at Nordstrom rack a few weeks ago, everything I picked up up was a shade of blue or floral. And lookie here, everything is a beige, yellow, gold and black situation for the most part. Minus that little pink wallet down in the corner who is just perfect. I think I’ll take her home with me, along with a couple others on this list! What are some of your favorites? Let me know in the comments, I’d love to see what everyone is lovin’ on!

Put A Case On That Phone Girrrrl

Everyone has an iPhone. At least that’s what I tell myself because I’m an Apple person and don’t believe in Android devices, so in my brain I think that everyone in the world has an iPhone. So that is what I’m basing this post on. If you don’t have an iPhone, well, I’m sorry. But really, I’m not sorry. Your Android commercials make me mad because sometimes they make me think that they’re better than an iPhone, but then I come to my senses and realize that they’re not. They’re just not. Apple rules all, and that’s what I know.

I’m one of those people you hate because I continually drop my phone and have yet to have a screen break. I know that by typing these words I’m jinxing myself. But I’m even surprised myself that it’s never happened. I guess it’s a waiting game now. But, you can in fact help yourself avoid the cracked screen of death by using a case. Some people aren’t fans of using cases because they’re bulky, or they cover up the beauty that is an iPhone. I’m a big believer in cases, sans Otterbox because those are just unnecessarily bulky and in my opinion, absurd. But there is a site that you may or may not have heard of called Society6, it has some of the best iPhone cases on the market, and they’re all $35. I guarantee you, whatever your style is, they’ll have one that you love. If I had a million doll hairs, I’d buy up half of them and change them everyday. I firmly believe that your phone case is an accessory. Here’s a simile that I just came up with, pretend you’re back in junior high language arts. Phone cases are to phones as eyebrows are to faces. I actually don’t even think that’s a simile, but just go withit. All you have to know is that they’re THAT important. If you don’t believe that your eyebrows are important, we need to chat, but that’s a post for another day. In the meantime, I’ve picked out some of my favorite cases from Society6. Take a look, I promise you’ll find one that you love!
