ok so…there are more sales happening and you need to know about them.
number one, jonathan adler is having a first ever online warehouse sale with 50% off pottery, decor, bedding and more! this is major peeps! how amazing are these wiggle bowls!? Use code LUCKY50.
Online retailer, Tobi, is having a 40% off sitewide sale. can i have these and this please? Use code HERO40.
American Eagle and Aerie are also having a 40% off sitewide and storewide sale, and free shipping. You know how I feel about free shipping! They’ve got some perfect festival gear for the summer concert circuit! Use code 03987441. What’s up with them using super long numbers as their coupon codes? Annoying much?
ShoeMint is doing a 25% off full-priced flats, which includes shoes and sandals. these are caaayoot! Use code FLAT25. They’re also running a 30% off sale items promo. Use code MEMODAY. This is part of the group of sites StyleMint, JewelMint and IntiMint. If you haven’t signed up, you need to!
Limited is also 40% off site and store. Loving these in every color! Use code SUNSHINE.
Ohhh baby, Splendid has 25% off dresses, shorts and swimwear, perfect for summer, obviously! How cute is this maxi? Use code SUMMERPICKS.
Need some new work styles? Banana Republic is 35% off store and sitewide. Use code BRDIVEIN. Mmmm stripes.
I hit up the outlet like I said that I would not, but found some really great stuff for 50% off, so it’s fine, right? RIght.
Memorial Day is this weekend and even though I’m fearing that I’m going to step outside today into anything but summer-like weather (rain, wind and a high of 54, can’t wait to run that 5K later…) it still is the unofficial start to summer. And with that being the case, there are a lot of retailers and etailers that have sales going on and I want to make sure you know all about them!
Nordstrom is having their half-yearly, also known as semi-annual but call if what you’d like Nordstrom. I think I love these. Prices are as marked.
I received an email early this am about J.Crew Factory being 50% off EVERYTHING in-store. I swear this promotion has been going on every other weekend and my checking account is surely paying for it. I’m going to try reeeeeally hard not to hit up the outlet while I’m in the ‘burbs this weekend but I make absolutely no promises because I heart this dress. It looks like everything on the site is 40% off though (prices as marked), so if you’re not close to an actual storefront, this is almost as great of a deal. DON’T MISS THIS. I’m totes eyeing these guys too!
Though I don’t shop there that often, Express is 40% off every single item (prices as marked). I’ve already got this, this, this and these in my cart. I’m trying to stock up on some new summer dresses because who doesn’t love cute summer dresses. Plus they’re like the most practical thing for Chicago heat.
ASOS is 20% off everthing too. Legit considering these. Code is TAKE20.
LOFT has some adorbs dresses and accessories marked down in their $25 and Under Event. I don’t understand it though because the dresses are not $25 and under…? I already picked up this dress annnnd this awesome necklace! Plus a couple other things during their clearance flash sale last night.
West Elm is up to 70% off already reduced clearance PLUS 15% off through Monday. Use code MEMDAY15. Definitely time to stock up on some cute housewears and candles.
My new favorite store, which I think is a hybrid of J.Crew and Kate Spade, is called CWonder and they’re having a 25% off your order of $100+. Gimme these and also this.
Shopbop has just added a ton of new styles to their sale section as well.
Gap has an ‘up to 40% off select items’ promo happening. I kind of hate sales like this. The whole “up to” concept just makes me mad. Basically you could have one item marked at 40% off and then you can say that…it’s just silly. Just mark down everything, thanks. I do really like this though…but seriously, can you see this summer sun dress obsession happening right before your eyes?
Victoria’s Secret is having their 7 for $26 “panty party” and who can turn that down? Enter code PARTYON. Also, annual swim sale is happening with free shipping on a $40 swim purchase. I mean, who can say no to free shipping? Not me.
Last but not least, Francesca’s has a bogo deal happening. Buy 1, Get 1 50% off on all full-priced clothing. Feed my dress need even more why don’t ya? Need, want, need.
Oh, one more. Gilt still has their Kate Spade sale happening that my dear friend Shana helped curate. Super cute stuff as always.
So if it’s going to be as dreary where you are as it is here, maybe spend your weekend stacking your summer wardrobe on the cheap. But I’d strongly advise doing it sooner than later because the good stuff is gonna go fast! Let me know if there’s anything I missed! What great stuff are you seeing for Memorial Day?
PS – for those in the chicago area with not much to do, here’s a list of all the sales going on this weekend at the Chicago Premium Outlets in Aurora. Good deals my friends, goooood deals. (hint hint, 50% off everything at Banana Republic, Gap is 50% off the whole store, J.Crew is 50% off the whole store, and it’s not listed but I wouldn’t write off Kate Spade having a sale there, as everytime I’ve been there it’s been like 40% off handbags and wallets.)
Ok now I’m done for realz. Yup, with a z, take it or leave it.
Today I want you to figure out a way to find 20 minutes out of your day to sit down and watch this video. I know, I know, 20 whole minutes? Believe me, you’ll appreciate it. This is I guess what one would consider a mini-documentary about a teenager who was diagnosed with terminal cancer and decided he wasn’t going to just sit back and let it kill him, and instead decided to basically become a rockstar. Zach passed away on Monday and his song Clouds has since reached number 1 on iTunes.
Hopefully by the end of the 20 minutes you’ll take a couple more to think about how privileged you are just to be alive. Then after that, you’ll think about all the things you complained about and realize that maybe your day wasn’t as bad as you thought – it’s all about perspective.
be warned, you will most likely be crying your eyes out by the end of this. zach was a pretty amazing kid and I’m glad that he was able to touch my life just a little bit. plus his song is like, super catchy. damn you zach, if that was the goal, you beyond succeeded.
and then also when you’re finished you’ll probably go looking for this, so…
new music for you today. since this is weekend is the unofficial start of summer, I thought I’d make a little bit of a more upbeat playlist for you to jam out to over the long weekend. I have zero plans and I’m kind of obsessed with the idea of cleaning my entire apartment…I’m cool, I know. Unfortunately the forecast is not calling for the beautiful weather like Chicago had today, more like cloudy and 60, which isn’t terrible but definitely not ideal for getting my tan on like I would have done had that been the case. What’re your plans for memorial day weekend?

3. Pass A Beer | Jake Owen

This weekend I made my almost-weekly trip to the outlet mall where I hit up J.Crew Factory to return some things I’d ordered online. If I can avoid having to MAIL something back, I’ll do it. But of course that turns into me buying more, but it barely sounds like a problem to me. Anyway, I picked up this, this, this and these (in black), three of which were on clearance anyway, so it’s cool.
Neon is clearly a spring trend and it had better spill into summer and fall too because I’ve acquired way too much of it in the past two months. Today I sported this cute ensamble. Photos by Troy Hayes.
